Kaden Madsen’s Story:
Kaden Madsen was diagnosed with Leukemia on January 19th, 2007, just two months past his second birthday. He had recently welcomed home his new baby sister, then barely six weeks old.
Kaden had always been a normal, healthy child with plenty of energy. Then one day he appeared to have a common cold. But long after he should have gotten over it, Kaden’s symptoms lingered on and on. After a strenuous and heart-wrenching three and a half weeks of testing and waiting for results, Kaden’s family received the diagnosis of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Almost immediately, Kaden underwent surgery to have a port placed and started chemo that same day. After three and a half years of enduring intense chemotherapy, Kaden was able to start kindergarten. Today, he loves school and life. This would not be possible except through the efforts of volunteers and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Team Kaden did their first Light the Night Walk in 2007, creating a gathering of friends and family that became an outstanding positive experience of hope for all participants. Every year since, Team Kaden continues to walk and raise money for cancer research and awareness through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night Walk. Please join us!
